Network Resilience

Designing a resilient network is more than just adding redundancy. You must understand business needs, then incorporate the level of redundancy required to create a resilient network. The availability of essential services in the context of computer networks is one of the main pillars of security, together with the confidentiality and integrity of data. Resilience aims at identifying, preventing, detecting and responding to processes or technological failures to recover or reduce damages and financial losses.

Service availability breach is becoming more and more often and disruptive. Improvements on information and communication technologies, such as wireless networking, have increased the importance of distributed systems in our everyday lives. Internet of things (IoT), vehicular networks, wireless body area networks are examples of distributed systems, composed of heterogeneous portable devices.

Resilience is crucial to these systems, particularly when they support security-sensitive applications on military, homeland security, financial and healthcare domains. The CCSC team research issues related to network resilience and propose solutions in accordance.
